Fox & Lion Bread is a bakery in San Francisco’s Mission District (3350 18th St), known for its excellent bread, pastries, coffee, and sandwiches. They hired me to design and develop an interactive wine selection site to bring more awareness to their drink offerings, specifically their curated wines. visit The Fox & Lion Wine Menu
Upon stepping into Fox & Lion, the first thing you notice is the carefully arranged drink selection: a fridge stocked with beer, another filled with non-alcoholic beverages, and a wire shelf displaying an array of wines (ⓐ, ⓑ). The space itself is warm and inviting, with plants scattered throughout. This thoughtfully designed interior was completely built by the owner (and bread-baker of 10 years!) Xan. My goal with this website was to capture the essence of this space, highlighting the objects that stood out to me and creating an experience that truly reflects what it’s like to step into Fox & Lion. To achieve this, I incorporated digital elements like plants, a Fox & Lion chair (ⓒ), and replica fridges.
To bring the space to life online, I recreated this corner of the store in Three.js. I used Meshy to generate the initial 3D models, then refined them in Blender and recreated most of the textures in Illustrator for a more realistic look. The result is an experience that closely mirrors walking into Fox & Lion Bread.
